I love that there is spelling in your dreams! I have had dreams about the spelling of words as well, but none so amusing as your Irish government dream. It's like the English major in us never sleeps...

Hmm...maybe Zea's onto something. My period was last week, and I dreamt that I'd sent an email to a project manager in Ireland, in which I'd used the word "precedent," and gotten back an insulting response explaining the Irish government (which had nothing to do with my own email about a work assignment) and rudely telling me why my choice of the word "president" was incorrect! And I almost never even remember having dreams.

You know, I think you are right about the hormones--I think that's what did it. Also, a friend of mine said she had really crazy dreams while pregnant (though not the issue here!).

The wombat is quite a cutie. I think if I could have a wild animal as a pet (and with no harm or disservice to the animal and no risk of getting mauled to death--so therefore in a dream world), a wombat would be near the top of the list.

I don't have any empirical data to back this up, but I think that the occurrence of particularly vivid or memorable dreams somehow coincides with menstrual/hormonal cycles. (Since men also have hormonal cycles, it could apply to them, too.) I sort have have noticed that I'll go through a period of remembering very vivid dreams and then I'll also have periods where I don't remember my dreams at all. I'm not sure if the pattern is as distinct as that, but it is a possibility.

Anyway, that is a crazy dream with the burrito eating baby and all. I'm just going to take your word for it that attacking wombats are terrifying, but that picture is like the cutest thing I've ever seen!

Wild, maybe there is extra dream-pollen floating around or something...wonder if anyone else has noticed particularly strange dreams lately?

I love that Pete drove Hillary Clinton around in a golf cart in his crazy dream. Much better than dead babies or attacking marsupials. I hope I get the famous-people dreams while on the mefloquine. Apparently it too can cause craziness and suicide. I think that is a fantastic thing to be taking while going to the Congo to hear stories of war and rape every day! Wait... (Well, at least I'll be on it before I go, so I should be able to tell if there will be any crazy side effects and switch to a different med if it's too much.)

Yay about getting things done! Then you can relax in peace. Take a nap—you deserve it.

As far as unusually vivid dreams go, I've been having them all week as well. Maybe it's something in the atmosphere. According to my calendar, it's a new moon this week, so we can't blame the dreams on a full moon.

When Pete and I were quitting smoking, we took Chantix, which also makes you have very vivid dreams. I could only stay on the medication for a week because it almost drove me insane (besides the dreams, it can really alter your personality and even lead to suicide). For the most part, the dreams weren't scary (although I did have one about dead babies), but they were so vivid that you would wake up tired, as if you had been up doing stuff all night. One night, Pete dreamed that he drove Hillary Clinton around in a golf cart :)
