This is a poem by my dear friend Simona, who is one of the loveliest and smartest ladies I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. She moved to the States from Romania when she was a teenager, learned English beautifully, and now writes amazing things about life and communism and death and pain and love.

About

I'm a twentysomething MFA grad enjoying life in a state of flux, dreaming of Paris and San Francisco while loving the warm summer evenings in North Carolina. I'm a little irreverent, a little mercurial, with an uncanny knack for putting my foot in my mouth.

What a fascinating picture of a place in time I’ve never seen.
Congratulations to Simona for winning an award, too.
Thanks for the sharing.
