Did you get the article from the KSC bulletin I emailed you?
I could check out the futon for $75 and bring it up to you two.
We had a futon on Ford Rd. so I would know what to look for.
I think the wood frame is nicer than the metal frame we had.
Let us know what you would like us to do.

We got ours from IKEA, and it's pretty comfortable. But it wasn't exactly cheap. I would definitely look around for someone getting rid of one and buy a nice mattress, like Sabrina said. I had a cheap mattress all through college and always woke up with aches and pains. I think ours from IKEA was around $200 (the frame was another $100 and the slipcover and pillows an additional amount I can't recall, but well worth it because with the addition of the rectangular pillows on the sides it looks like a couch rather than a bed).

It's a shame we're so far away; I'm going to get rid of mine. You can probably find a cheap futon frame on craigslist or, if nothing else, at Walmart. But for the actual futon part, you probably want to go to an actual futon store and buy a nice, thick one (otherwise, you can feel the frame through the futon--NOT comfortable). Beyond that, flip the futon over periodically, etc., since it's a lot mushier than a mattress full of springs. Hope that helps!
