I'm guessing because Aslan's made of CG-fur, which no man has ever touched--so how do we know if it's soft or not? There's a whole field of research out there that I'm not even sure is being explored (touch/glove interfaces for interacting with virtual objects)--but since we're talking about hair/fur, it will most likely be a while before they can do that.
