Front lawn fertilized and watered with a beer/ammonia/soap tonic. Two white azaleas planted. Back yard tidied of lawn tools and trash from the previous week’s work. Garden fed with beer/ammonia/tea/soap tonic. Experiment of rooting clippings begun. Laundry sorted and started. Bed linens stripped. Smoothie with flax oil and wheat germ consumed. Lamb from the farmer’s market defrosting in the fridge. Now, onto the hard stuff: writing.
Happy Monday!

You got all this done by 11:30? Good grief, girl, you’re a machine! Hope writing goes as productively as the rest of it!
Hmm…ammonia. Interesting. I wouldn’t ordinarily think that household cleaners and plants would be a good mix, but ammonia’s just a basic (I mean not-acidic, as opposed to simple) solution of hydrogen and nitrogen. And nitrogen is the stuff of chemical fertilizers. And the protein we consume. Weird.
Kirsten–the rest of my day was definitely not as productive as my morning was! But, I am learning to be okay with that.
Sabrina–I know, I was a little uncomfortable with the ammonia but figured since the plants were just babies and not currently sporting anything we’ll actually eat (say, a vegetable) I’d give it a shot. Don’t know if I’ll keep it up once they’re producing or if I’ll move to a less chemically tonic. I’m intrigued by your break down of what it is, though. I need to learn more about the whys and hows of all this crazy stuff…
