It died.
The herbs are still puttering along, but everything else has become bug food. We are feeding bugs. We’re very generous like that. And I think our gardening days are going on a leave of absence, duration unknown. Farmers market, here I come…

Ditto for our garden except we still have tomatoes that fall to the ground and we go along and pick them up. So sad. I came in the house today with bean bugs on my shirt. We had such high hopes that it was going to be just like last year. This seems to be happening to more people this year for some reason so maybe it’s not our fault. Ya think?
Yes, it has definitely been a weird year for gardens. If you guys weren’t successful with your garden, I don’t feel so bad about mine…
That’s too bad, Erin. It makes me even more nervous about starting one of our own. Over the summer, we had decent luck with some herbs (basil, mint, parsley), but some died (thyme, catnip). Someone also gave me two jalapeno plants which produced about 40 peppers between them. And I don’t even use them that much, so I was always trying to give them away to people who came over. Right now I am nurturing one tomato plant which grew from seeds my aunt brought from Ukraine. Let’s hope that one makes it! What I wouldn’t give for a good tomato!
