Spring Break Reading

This morning was gray and sullen (perfect time to work), but the afternoon was sunny and warm and inviting. I read outside and then went to the library to stock up. Here’s what I’ll be reading (or at least starting):

An assortment of Bittman cookbooks, plus a John le Carré novel and one by Stephen King. I’ve never read any of King’s actual novels, though I have read On Writing twice. The other two books on top, the ones that are of reasonable length, are The Autobiography of My Mother by Jamaica Kincaid and By the River Piedra I Sat Down & Wept by Paulo Coelho, an author my father-in-law recently recommended I check out.

Apparently, my pictures of stacks of books often feature cats. I give you the following examples as proof:

Spring Days and Oliver and the Beats

There are very few pictures, I believe, that cannot be improved with a well-placed cat.
