I love this and completely identify. Lately I feel like I’ve been avoiding thinking about decisions that are linked to other big decisions which are linked to others. Man, can’t we just eat Thin Mints and watch movies on the couch?

Rachel, I can always use the reminder that I’m not the one running the show! I don’t want to overstate my responsibilities or capabilities. Friday was the perfect day for rest and perspective, and I’m feeling much lighter now.

I’m grateful for windows of insight into the responsibilities I have, though, because it keeps me focused and working hard, but it’s nice to step back too and remember the world turns without my attention. (Imagine!)

And I agree with you that the “small group leaders lead the church” and that means you, as a pod leader, do too. But don’t lose sight that Christ ultimately leads this church. And you can do all things in Him who can strengthen you. (I’m guilty of frequently forgetting to rely on that invisible power.)

Sounds like you had the perfect day planned – hope you’re feeling restored!

Treasure these days. Undoubtedly you will need more of them. Your heart is not the type to “slack” on anything, because you believe that everyone is that important. And everything we do affects someone who is that important. So, treasure these days. You are what makes them so important.

ps – What a fortunate group of women to have an advocate that cares as much as you do!!!

He actually didn’t have anything to do with the airplanes. He worked on the Delta rockets, which put up satellites.

He’s adorable with the scavenger hunts–and he actually made up little rhymes to go with each clue. Very clever. I could never make a good scavenger hunt, myself. I think it’s a talent you’re either born with, or not. I hope you get a scavenger hunt someday! I’d throw you one, but see previous statement about talent. (That and we live in different states. Sad.)
